Meet The Math Lady
Shana has a degree in mathematics with a minor in education from the University of North Texas. She has over 20 years experience with high school students in and out of the classroom. Shana is passionate about helping students understand and excel in math. She creates a comfrortable and fun environment where students can grow in their skills and confidence. Her expertise is in making material easily understandable by meeting the needs of each student's learning style.

Shana married her high school sweetheart in 2000 and is mom to their two boys. In her spare time she enjoys traveling with her family and watching her boys play basketball and baseball.
Background
Shana taught high school math in a local public school district right out of college. During her time there, she was member of the district's curriculum team where she helped to rewrite the district curriculum for Algebra 2 and Precalculus. After 6 years in this district, she decided to leave the classroom to become a stay-at-home mom. Shana quickly realized she missed the daily interaction with students and made the easy decision to become a private tutor. She enjoyed being able to work with students one-on-one and watching her students excel in their ability. After almost 15 years of being out of the classroom, an opportunity came to teach at her children's private school. Shana taught at that school for 3 years before making the decision to go back to her roll as a stay-at-home mom and private tutor. This gives her the best of both worlds!
